The thunderous clapping was overwhelming as I thought to myself “…so, what lies ahead of this moment? Praise and celebration or sadness and grief?” When I stepped up to the podium I got a wave of emotions. The emotions I felt were almost unnatural. It felt as if there was a gargantuan theme park inside of me with roller coasters of every emotion. Nervous butterflies with vibrant colors ruled the skies above the park and looked like a beautiful rainbow. All of this I felt as I got ready to recite my speech for a spot on a student council.
